Growing up, I loved watching the Lakers. The three-peat from 2000-2002 was amazing. I still remember seeing the Lakers play the Vancouver Grizzlies live in 2001. Admittedly, I cheered for the Lakers, rather than my hometown Grizzles. I still look back on the pictures that I took of Kobe Bryant,... read more

Kobe represented what I wanted my work ethic to be. He started training at 4:30am everyday and got drafted straight out of highschool. The youngest most shiny NBA player always had something to prove and you'd argue that somewhere along the way he grew up and showed everyone what he was made... read more

Growing up in the 90s, one of my favorite things to do was to watch basketball. I had a handful of favorite players but I admit one of them was not Kobe Bryant. Not because I hated him as a person/player but that he would literally beat every team I liked. Throughout the years I continued to... read more

I was 7 years old and living in a small city called Hamilton, just outside of Toronto. It was 2008, and since the hometown Raptors had made the playoffs the year before, I began following basketball up close. It was February and if anyone remembers, the Lakers played the Raptors in Toronto a day or two after the Gasol trade. That was the night I fell in love with Kobe's game. Of all the performances he put on; 81 points, 62 in 3 quarters, 65 against the Blazers, nothing stands out as much as... read more

I remember living in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. My wife and I were walking along the Marina and stopping at the Nowhere Bar for a drink. They were showing the Lakers vs Jazz playoff game. A very young Kobie threw up 2 or 3 airballs and Lakers lost the game. I turned to Cindy and said, what guts that kid has, I like it. I said, I really think he might be really good. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine what a great all time player he would turn out to be.

I've suffered as a child with... read more

I wanted to create a story of a young girl who grows up in the era of Kobe Bryant. It's a story of so many kids who we're inspired by his actions both on and off the court.

Please enjoy and share!

Thanks,
Patrick

My name is Alan J.J. Nadeau III, I'm 18, and I'm a high school senior and Unified basketball player from Hinsdale, New Hampshire. We just finished our season a couple weeks ago, and when we were playing, my jersey number was 24. So in their honor, I put Kobe's name & numbers on my socks, and RIPKOBE & RIPGIANNA on the back of my shoes. I took the court in our first game after Kobe's death, a home game no less, against Conant High School, and scored 10 pts, including two 3-pointers (and yes,... read more

Way back in 1996 I was around 9 years old when Kobe started to play in the league. All my elementary classmates including myself started to idolize his game. Whenever there basketball scrimmages, friendly matches and school tournament we always imitate his cool moves. Its like watching MJ with street basketball style. It was awesome! The number 8 became so sensational only the best player in the school can get it. In short I can't get it for myself whenever there are basketball events. I became... read more
